BBQ Flank Steak and Asparagus
Ingredients:
- 1
- 5 lbs flank steak
- 1 bunch fresh asparagus, trimmed
- 2 tbsp olive oil
- Salt and pepper to taste
- For the marinade:
- 1/4 cup soy sauce
- 2 tbsp Worcestershire sauce
- 2 tbsp balsamic vinegar
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Dijon mustard
- 1 tsp honey
- 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions:
In a bowl, mix all the ingredients for the marinade together with a whisk
Put the flank steak in a plastic bag that can be closed again and again, and pour half of the marinade over it
Put the bag in the fridge for at least an hour, or overnight for better taste
Get the grill ready by setting it to medium-high heat
Take the flank steak out of the sauce and let it cool down at room temperature
Add salt and pepper to the asparagus after brushing it with olive oil
For medium-rare, or any other level of doneness you like, grill the flank steak for 4 to 6 minutes on each side
For three to five minutes, or until tender-crisp, grill the asparagus
After letting the steak rest for a few minutes, cut it against the grain into thin slices
Grilled asparagus should be served on the side with the sliced flank steak
Before serving, drizzle the rest of the marinade over the sliced steak and asparagus
