Chocolate Banana Bread with Chocolate Glaze
Ingredients:
- 2 ripe bananas, mashed
- 1/3 cup melted butter
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 egg, beaten
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup semisweet chocolate chips
- 1/4 cup milk
- 1/2 cup powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons unsweetened cocoa powder
- 2 tablespoons milk
Instructions:
Preheat the oven to 350F 175C
Grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan
In a mixing bowl, combine mashed bananas, melted butter, vanilla extract, granulated sugar, and brown sugar
Mix well
Stir in the beaten egg until the mixture is smooth
In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, 1/4 cup cocoa powder, baking soda, and salt
Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, mixing until just incorporated
Fold in the semisweet chocolate chips
Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and bake for 60-65 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean
Allow the banana bread to cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer it to a wire rack to cool completely
In a small saucepan, combine 1/4 cup cocoa powder, powdered sugar, and 2 tablespoons of milk
Heat over low heat, stirring constantly until the glaze is smooth and slightly thickened
Drizzle the chocolate glaze over the cooled banana bread
Slice and serve
